FREE CPD for teachers in September 07
A FREE CPD course for Key Stage 2, 3 & 4 teachers will take place in September 2007. The course is aimed at teachers who are interested in developing a new focus for an arts-based project in school and who would like to learn more about creative and innovative ways of exploring architecture, a free resource at everyone's fingertips and on everyone's doorstep.
During the day, there will also be the opportunity to sign up to the space explorers challenge, a region wide pilot project aimed at encouraging pupils to question and investigate their local built evironment through the arts.
Northern Architecture is currently working to secure funding to provide participating schools with the support of artists (visual artists, writers, musicians...) and architects during the pilot phase of this scheme and to hold an exhibition at the end of the project to celebrate the work produced.
If you are interested in taking part in the initial CPD session, please contact Sarah Allen no later than 8 June 2007, after which a precise date and venue for the course will be confirmed.
