In May 2011, the Friends of Summerhil commissioned Northern Architecture to consult with targeted groups from the Summerhill area about the future use of the Summerhill Bowling Club site, which the Friends had just purchased.

The brief was to go beyond consultation and to engage the hard to reach groups in the area, using creative and participatory means to find out what their vision is for the future of the Bowling House and greens.

Northern Architecture held workshops and site visits with a wide range of individuals and with the local primary schools between June and September. The groups produced a range of maps and models giving their thoughts on what the site could be and look like.

The report was delivered in November 2011.
