Northern Architecture’s enabling service is about providing knowledge and guidance, as needed, at any stage of a project or scheme.

 

Expert Panel

Northern Architecture’s Expert Panel have the skills and experience to offer advice and assistance in: developing and preparing strategic documents such as Local Plans including advice on external consultation / input and client perspective; brief development for small and large scale projects; procurement and Neighbourhood Plan guidance and support for communities, among other things. A full list of expertise is available on request.

Expert Panel members can be employed on very short or longer-term basis depending on your needs. The Expert Panel members are recruited and contracted through Northern Architecture and work for a set day rate ensuring a straightforward and cost effective solution to meeting your design advice and support needs.

The Panel includes trained Building for Life Assessors.

Spaceshapers workshop

Do you have a public space that needs improving? Want to involve local people?

Spaceshapers is a workshop-based toolkit, developed by CABE Space, designed to measure the quality of a public space before investing time and money in improving it. The workshops, led by a trained Spaceshaper facilitator, are an opportunity to bring together a wide range of stakeholders to undertake an audit and to discuss the results, design quality and how the space works for different people.

 

Spaceshapers, 14 –19

This is an extension of the Spaceshapers workshop-based toolkit that is designed to specifically encourage the voices of young people, who are often overlooked in community engagement. Spaceshaper 9-14 aims to get them involved in improving the places and spaces they use most.

How to be a good client

We can offer training and/or mentoring support to individuals/ groups helping them to develop their communication and negotiating skills so they can become effective and successful client who understand and can better manage the process of project development and building works.

 
Community involvement

We have considerable experience in working with communities and can offer anything from individual events to long-term programs that guide communities through major redevelopments. Go to the Services page in the Community section of the website for full details.
