Northumbria University's Built Environment Visualisation CentreĀ in conjunction with Northern Architecture invites architects, local authority officers, planners and built environment professionals to attend an introductory session of Virtual NewcastleGateshead.

Virtual NewcastleGateshead currently has 8.45km of modelled 3D data captured using aerial photogrammetry in 2009. The model is constantly being updated and the geographic area extended.

The Virtual NewcastleGateshead 3D model can be used interactively in the urban design and consultation process. Both Newcastle City Council and Gateshead Council accept the accuracy of the model data for the purposes of urban planning.

VNG offers:

  • Provision of small tiles of VNG data for modelling proposals
  • Insertion of models into the larger urban model and production of still images, animations and 3D prints from this.
  • Developers and architects the means to assess the impact of design proposals within their urban context.
  • Various sizes of data are available for the areas of Newcastle and Gateshead.

Come to get an overview and hands on experience of Virtual NewcastleGateshead in their Built Environment Visualisation Centre at the University of Northumbria, at bespoke sessions, which are free for Architects and Built Environment professionals:

There are also other time slots available:

4.30pm on Tuesday 5 July
