Come and find out more about NewcastleGateshead's interactive 3D city model developed by Northumbria University's Built Environment Visualisation Centre.

See NewcastleGateshead in a virtual 3D model and fly above the rooftops of the city. See how proposed new buildings can be added and learn how the Virtual NewcastleGateshead 3D model is being used interactively in the urban design planning and consultation process.

Both Newcastle City Council and Gateshead Council accept the accuracy of the model data for the purposes of urban planning. Virtual NewcastleGateshead currently has 8.45km of modelled 3D data captured using aerial photogrammetry in 2009. The model is constantly being updated and the geographic area extended.

Come to get an overview and hands on experience of Virtual NewcastleGateshead in their Built Environment Visualisation Centre at the University of Northumbria, at sessions for students and interested members of the public. There is also the opportunity to see a version of the model produced by the University's 3D printer.

There is also an earlier session at 4pm - 5.15pm
