Council forging on with Consett academy plan
CIVIC bosses yesterday formally approved plans for a new £30m academy in County Durham despite still looking for a lead sponsor. A meeting of Durham County Council's Cabinet voted for the building of the new academy in Consett, next to a new sports centre at a total cost of £43m.
