During June and July 2011, Creative Partnerships invited Northern Architecture to work on a creative engineering project with Durham Community Business College and Durham County Cricket Club. The project aimed to support the transition of year 6 pupils to their new school in the autumn.

Astrid Lund (Design Advisor, Northern Architecture) worked with Dave Ross (Learning Officer, DCCC) and 20 Yr 8 students on a feasibility study for a new cricket pavilion.
Emma Kench (Education Officer, Northern Architecture) led a training workshop to enable Yr 8 students to pass on design and engineering skills to Yr 6 pupils during transition week.

8 feeder schools took part in a Challenge Day, led by Sara Cooper (Education Officer, Northern Architecture) and
supported by DBCC teachers and Yr 8 coaches, in which 80 Year 6 pupils responded to the sports pavilion brief.
Northern Architecture also supported students in creating an exhibition for a launch event for parents, family and community members to celebrate their achievements.
