
Since September the Byker Lives project have been working with Byker Primary School year 5 pupils nad teachers to create a large scale model of a part of Erskine's estate. The young people and project worker and resident Clara Crivelarro explored the estate, taking photographs and discussing the architecture and history of the houses and buildings surrounging their school. Animator Robin Webb has introduced the pupils to animation techniques and three members of ArchiGRAD have been helping the groups creat 6 large scale models that fit together to form the Northern part of Byker Wall and estate. The young people have filmed their creation of these modes using time-lapse and stop-frame animation tethniques and in the new year they will be creating a sound track for thier film by holding and tea party and interviewing their parents and grandparents about life in Byker in the past and present.
