Tim Bailey celebrated as Northern Architecture's Cultural Champion
On the 29th January, Twenty-Four individuals from the North East region were celebrated as Cultural Champions at a ceremony put on by national body Arts & Business. Identified as champions by the major arts organisations of the region, the individuals were recognised for the contribution they have made to the cultural life of the area.
Tim Bailey, Principle Architect and founder of xsite architecture was identified by both Northern Architecture and Northern Stage as their Cultural Champion:
“In the past 4 years Tim has unfailingly responded to calls for help, advice, offered creative and nurturing conversations, financial support, connected us to new people and volunteered to develop projects and run public engagement projects with out asking for remuneration, significant credit or return of any sort. Recognising him as our cultural champion is a small return for his support and a sign of our gratitude.” Said Kate Percival, Marketing Officer at Northern Architecture
Colin Tweedy, Chief Executive of Arts & Business said, “At this time local and individual support becomes increasingly vital. We owe huge thanks to these Cultural Champions as they freely give their skills, energy, ideas and money to help the arts go from strength to strength.”
