The generosity of space compared with many modern developments were noted and the jury particularly liked the mezzanine two bedroom flats which has been cut from unwanted single bedroom accommodation.
Description
The fifth block, the Cedars, has eighty flats available for private sale. These one and two bedroom apartments and duplexes are available from Rook Matthews Sayer at prices between £50,000 and £90,000. The City is looking at providing up to 95% mortgages to support the purchase of these properties.
The impact of the recession led to a scaling down of the original plans and the remaining five blocks are now awaiting demolition. Although the procurement / tender process is in hand, a firm deadline and phasing plan for the demolition is still to be developed.
