Behind the Scenes Tours of Cultural Venues

Ever wondered what's in the storeroom of a Gallery, backstage at the Theatre or in the projection box at the Cinema? Here's your chance to find out. Northern Architecture is co-ordinating exclusive free tours of some of the region's best known cultural buildings on the weekend of Friday 10 June - Sunday 12 June. Guides will show you some of behind the scenes areas, share stories and answer questions about the building's history and design and what it's like to work there. Explore a building you've never been to before, or bring a friend who has not visited the venue.

    Building Tour of The Sage Gateshead

    The Sage Gateshead is an interesting and beautiful building, designed by internationally recognised British architects Foster & Partners. The tour visits many of the areas of the building that are not normally open to the public. The history of the site, the architecture, and the vision of the organisation are all discussed by an experienced member of the team.
