North East Festival of Architecture 2008

![]()
Welcome to the first North East Festival of Architecture.
The place we live in is being shaped around us, often at an alarming speed, for reasons we are not sure about and by people we don’t know. Previously known as Architecture Week, NEFA is a ten-day festival of events celebrating new and upcoming architecture and design in the North East of England, looking behind the scenes, introducing you to some of the players, and giving you the opportunity to become part of the action. This year the Festival takes place in Newcastle and Gateshead. Next year we will be inviting you to explore the North East region. Whether you like to just look, prefer to listen or enjoy taking part, there will be something for you to do. Where we live will inspire and surprise you.
The festival is mostly made up of three types of event: talks; tours and workshops. But there is also a couple of unique events tucked in there! The events are for everyone but some are more suited to certain ages. The talks and some tours more for the adults and the workshops tend to be more suited to children and families. If you have any doubts, please call us for more information.
The North East Fesitval of Architecture could not be possible without the help of our sponsor, supporters and Friends.
With hearty thanks to:

And all our Friends of the Festival:

Finally, a big thank you to everyone who put on an event and to the volunteers for their contribution to the Festival.
