Walk 8

  • The view westward along Quayside from opposite the Guild Hall.
  • The view up Tuthill Stairs.

Proceed westward along the Quayside under the High Level Bridge, designed by Stephenson and the first elevation above the river for traffic from Gateshead. Skirt the edge of the Conran residential development on the right to find Tuthill Stairs. Climb the newly built stairs flanked by modern apartments to reach the old cobbles of Clavering Place at the top.
